What is Coaching?
The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity, and leadership.
We all have goals we want to reach, challenges we’re striving to overcome, and times when we feel stuck. Partnering with a coach can change your life, setting you on a path to greater personal and professional fulfilment.
What is on offer?
An opportunity for a series of discussions in a safe space, in a thinking environment – to explore what is going on, to understand what you want instead, and to think about how you can get there.
Coordination
Tailored to your needs, in person or virtually, with space between each session. The time between the sessions can be equally beneficial, allowing for further processing of the discussion that has taken place. Sharing reflections and insights, over WhatsApp, in-between the sessions is also welcomed.
What happens in each session?
Very much a conversation – often with open questions that help to explore thoughts and feelings, surfacing understanding and insight. On occasion, bringing in tools and techniques that help to lead to greater awareness.
Our First Session
Often the first session is a great opportunity to explore a topic, or range of topics, and to think about what forms the basis for our work together.
I offer free first sessions to new and returning clients. Simply get in touch to arrange.
How can I prepare?
In coming to a session, it can be useful to arrive with a clear mind – for example, if coming from a prior activity, having a short break in-between to gather your thoughts. A short walk or stepping outside for a few minutes can be helpful in this regard.
It is also in your interest to think about a topic you would want to discuss. This does not need to be something you have fully defined; we can expand on this during our discussion but having something you are thinking about or wrestling with is essential.
Confidentiality
What we discuss within our sessions will be confidential within those sessions.
I may, in service of you, discuss themes from the session with my coaching supervisor; in those instances, your name and detailed situation would stay out of that discussion.
The only time this might not be the case is if something came up where you were a risk to yourself or others, in which case we would pause and have a conversation.
Feedback
I will ask, after each session, how you found the session. This will allow us, over our time together, to make sure we grow and strengthen the value of the coaching space.
At the end of our time together, I would invite you to consider adding a public endorsement to my LinkedIn profile or to give me a testimonial.
Commitment
I will be spending time during and between our sessions thinking of how best to support you. In return, I would ask that you try to stick to our time slots as much as possible, with advance notice if these need to change.
About Me
After having completed my coach training with Barefoot (February 2023), one of the leading coaching training organisations in the UK, I also completed a seven-month Genius Catalyst Certification Program (December 2023), with Michael Neill, an internationally recognised coach.
A Genius Catalyst being ‘Someone who can consistently and reliably both bring their own genius to life but also spark the creativity, aliveness, and wellbeing in the people around them.’
I then went on to join and finish Michael Neill’s Supercoach Academy Small Group Certification Programme 2024 – including 1:1 Supervision, Mentoring, and Intensives across Los Angeles, Austin, and London. (June 2024)
These have been phenomenal learning experiences, packed with knowledge I bring to my coaching sessions.
