(7) Thriving Through Small Steps: Embracing Change in the Now

“If change only ever happens in the now, what will you do with the next now?!”

That was the topic I was musing on this morning..

If there are only ever a series of present moments – now, followed by now, followed by now, then change happens in the now, by taking one step, followed by another, followed by another.

Instead of thinking about doing some exercise, putting shoes on and getting out the front door…

Instead of thinking about the options for that next desired project, simply taking one action in that direction…

Growing the bonsai seeds by watering them (one of my projects) – water for each one – one, then the next, then the next, then the next… change not yet visible, but it’s the continued action in the now that is providing the environment for them to grow – the change happening beneath the surface, fuelled by the action in the now…

Trying a different drink, a gift from a client, that’s been sat in the fridge for months – simply opening the can and taking a sip, rather than wondering what it tastes like. (I enjoyed it, thank you! 😊)

Large scale IT transformation projects – with seemingly not enough resource or time – completed because a team of people saw that continued small steps, one by one by one, started to deliver that change.

Momentum building. Getting to flow. One intentional step at a time.

Desiring a change? Musing about what something will be like? What will you do with the next now moment to take one step forwards?
